Aims and Objectives of our School Council

Our school council helps to make our school community friendly and one of which we are proud.

We learn to listen to others and understand that everyone has a right to be heard.

We make a positive contribution to the school environment and the way we feel about it.

We learn self confidence, social skills and responsible behaviour towards each other, teachers and adults who work in school.

By contributing to decisions made by our class and school council we become more confident.

We learn how to take part in decisions made by us to make our school community a better place.

The Constitution of our School Council

We learn to listen to others and understand that everyone has a right to be heard.

Each year group chooses a representative to take their concerns and ideas to the school council meeting.

The school council is made up of the house captains, a representative from each year group, elected in May each year for the following year and two members of staff.

The school council has a chairperson and secretary elected by the School Council at the May meeting.

Meetings will take place once a month and the dates of these will be discussed and decided upon at the first meeting and posted on the notice board.

From June to September the old council members will remain in office to show new members what to do.

All items for discussion must be brought to the meetings by the class representative.

All money will be looked after by P.S.E. post holder and Head Teacher.

Minutes of the meetings will be kept by the secretary and be available for anyone to read.
